It was a bright morning and the day was marked as Singapore Botanic Gardens in our itinerary. We have already checked the pictures of the gardens through internet and we were excited to see this world heritage site all by ourselves. The garden is 150 year old and is a beautiful attraction for nature lovers like me.

The timings of the gardens are 5 am to 12 am, and we managed to reach there by 10 am. The entry is absolutely free as nature doesn’t charge anyone to appreciate its beauty. I was surprised to find such a vast and rare collection of rich plants surrounding me from every corner. There was a light on my face while I was going through all the plants and trying to educate myself more about them.

The garden is primarily based on three concepts. One is Tanglin, it is the heritage arena that retains the old charms from various historic gardens. The second is the central arena which is especially designed for tourists, and lastly Bukit Timah where one can discover unique stuff and gain information. We have smartly allotted our time for the three cores so that we don’t miss out the splendid beauties of nature and the fascinating stories of them.

We have participated in certain activities at the garden such as exploring the walking trails, learning in advanced gardening workshops, expanding our knowledge in herbs and spices and edible garden workshops, and getting involved in the talks with the garden experts and other people from various backgrounds. Nature has definitely brought us together and we were even blessed to make some good friends.

Even the photographer hidden inside me was stimulated here and my camera was filled with lively green and brown pictures of the exceptional plants and heritage trees. The botanic gardens has even some schemes and plans for nature enthusiasts, which I think is a good opportunity for people who want to lend hands to help mother nature.

The sun was setting, and it was our time to depart from this wonderful place. Overall, we had a great experience here.
